Store Diversion
While filing into the store, various members of the group immediately use a variety of methods to divert the staff's attention. These methods range from an open attempt to feign shoplifting, to disrobing. In all cases, the purpose of this activity is intended to draw attention away from the store's safe, cash register, main office, or other locations containing the daily cash supply. A booster apron is sometimes used to increase the amount of the theft. A booster apron is a large skirt or other material or clothing with a large concealable pocket in front making it easy for the thief to quickly and easily hide the items. They sometimes carry special tools to remove the security tags.
