In partnership with the New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN) and the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee, and sponsored by the Jewelers Security Alliance, the National Association of Bunco Investigators, Inc. (NABI) on October 17-18, 2023, is conducting a conference to help you in the identification, apprehension, and prosecution of crimes against the elderly.
Our goal is to help you combat elder exploitation and assure successful prosecution.
We are bringing in experts from across the country, many of whom are judicially qualified in their respective fields, to teach you tips, tricks, and traps in bringing your cases to a successful conclusion.
Don’t miss this power house of entertaining and nationally known speakers such as Scott Guginsky, a national leader in the apprehension of organized jewelry thieves; Special Agent Rich Law is the head of a national organized insurance crime group dealing with nomadic organized criminals; Leslie Albrecht, Special Investigations, Medal of Valor recipient, and a leader in Adult Protective Services with 30 years’ experience in Law Enforcement; Dirk Moore, an author and a nationally recognized expert in traveler crime; Brian O’Conner who literally wrote the book on financial crime which is used throughout the country, and a cyber and electronic crimes expert. Greg Ovanession is a nationally known as an expert on confidence schemes who writes a weekly intelligence log which is distributed to NABI members in the US, Canada, Germany, Austria, and the UK, and is responsible for hundreds of suspect identifications when there are no other leads; Gary Nolte, who teaches throughout the country on transnational and home grown transitory gangs and works with agencies both here and abroad; Eric Sherar, NYPD’s Organized Theft Unit (the criminals working your area seem to have either started or ended in Eric’s jurisdiction); Dale Morgan, NABI President, an author and nationally recognized expert on the investigation of Elder Fraud; and the Middlesex District Attorney, Mary O’Neill regarding putting together successful prosecutions and more.
Have any of your cases or calls for service involved elders victimized by elder exploitation in any of its forms? For example: Fake Gold Jewelry Swaps or Sales, Quick Change Scams, Lottery scams, Home Repair Scams, Grandparent Scams, Fortune Telling and Psychic Scams, Imposter Burglaries, Distraction Burglaries, pickpocket theft, or do you need Adult Protective Services intervention? You probably have. If so, you should attend the conference. You will learn about these and much, much more, and you will receive a Certificate of Training at the conclusion of the conference.
